Dreispitzareal is the name of the area in basle, where a center of electronic and digital art is growing up. Institutions like Schaulager, Shift Festival or the since may opened HEK (House of electronic arts) and the Herzog&DeMeuron Musuem or the HGK (School for graphical art) will be settled in. Galleries and ateliers, gastronomic enterprises, apartements (for example for art studiyng) and much more will be there within the next couples of years.

The CMS (Christoph Merian Stiftung, Basel) and the enourmos goodwill of the Art Department of Basel-Stadt made this all possible. Their goodwill and their wish to build a base in the knee of Rhein river for a big departure in direction of contemporary form of arts.

raumD was born out of this dynamic. At the Oslostrasse, between the Dreispitzhalle and the soon arising HGK skyscraper and beside the HEK its the space where NEOPREN Records (electronic music and visual arts - label which is settled in basle) and the HEK Team will show off events consistently , which will cover a distance field of panel discussions, over film and video art up to live concerts and parties. Of couse always with the main emphasis on the electronic production/creation of their content.



First half year, from october to april there will be festivals, art lectures, theater and monthly events, which build a bridge within 8 hours between visual arts like videoscreenings and installations over audiovisuell arts that lead to electronic music and djing.

raumD is specially for that case equipped with a hiqh quality and incomparable sound system and a big row of video projectors of the latest generation. Also a bar is inside, and for the beginning its planed to make something like culinary art, means jung cooks from the area around basle can show off their kitchen in form of fooding.

Schallbox Records is conquering Europe ...

After capturing „Das Schiff“ in Basel the time for captain Steve Cole and his pirate crew has come, to hoist up sails and move along. They will take in the anchors clocklike to the 8th release on Schallbox records in april, because the wind blows favourable for the buccaneers from Basel!

Already the publication from „Is Different?!“ , the 7th appearance on Schallbox Records, from no one less than the nautic officers of the analog-synthie-ocean-discoverers Urla Ender, lead to so much upwind, to set the compass straight to north, and nothing stands against conquering the european club sea!

First destination of Captain Cole and his crew is the new royal-ship of technocapital from Germany - „My Name is Barbarella“ - the youngest ship of berlins technofleet. The right place for the Schallboy-ship-crew to bring their floating sound to the crowd, like their forefathers the caribean rum to the people!

Just when the ears of the team on the royal „Barbarella“ are infected, the musical triumphal march of Schallbox Crew continues, and its advisable to hold tight the ships rail. Because the newest Release out from the galley of the navigators from Basel, that is produced by the young officers „Doppelt gemoppelt“ rocks the boat not only through the genius remixes from Nils Ohrmann and Monoroom!

Starboard ahead, shaking through the dancing mob, the Schallbox pushes her way through cities like Hannover, Munich, Freiburg. To fill up the galleys, they make a short stop in hailing port Basel, to be back off to the sea with stocks from native-sound!

So get out of your cabins, because in the logbook of Schallbox Records is still space for further coordinates of other technoports on the continent!
